Free Copies of Career Distinction: The Best Personal Branding Book I Know

Today is Tuesday, so this post is on positive personal impact.

Last Tuesday, I featured the new book, Career Distinction: Stand Out by Building Your Brand by William Arruda and Kirsten Dixson on this blog.  William and I are friends.  He was so pleased by the mention on this blog that he sent me 10 copies of Career Distinction to give to my readers.

That means it’s your lucky day.  I’ll send a copy of Career Distinction to the first 10 people who send me their e mail and snail mail address – and who do one other thing.  Ask me, William and Kirsten your most pressing question about creating your personal brand.  One of us will answer you question via e mail.

This is a good deal.  You get the book.  And you get your most pressing question answered.  The book retails for $21.95.  As another bonus, it has a link to a Brand Assessment Tool and Workbook that you can use to further enhance your personal brand.

I think that Career Distinction is a great book.  William and Kirsten explain their Extract, Express, Exude (see last Tuesday’s post) formula for building your personal brand – something that they and I think is key to success in your life and career.

Career Distinction focuses on what you need to do to set yourself apart in order to become a career and life success. However, like me, William and Kirsten believe that you can do well by doing good.  They’ve demonstrated this commitment to helping others by sending me the 10 free copies to give away to readers of this blog.

In a chapter in the book called Increase Your Career Karma, they list several benefits that come with making personal social responsibility as part of your personal brand.

  • You meet other, expanding your network.
  • You reinforce and augment your experience.
  • You broaden your perspective.
  • You contribute to a passion.
  • You increase your visibility.
  • You connect with the larger world.
  • You develop professionally by mastering new skills.
  • You become a much more interesting and attractive professional or job candidate.
  • You demonstrate leadership, communication and project management skills.
  • You help change the world for the better.

I love the concept of career karma.  This is important advice, because no one of us succeeds all on his or her own.  The more we find time to do something for others, the more likely we are to have someone do something helpful for us.

Don’t forget.  Send me your most pressing question about building your personal brand and your e mail and snail mail addresses and I’ll get a copy of Career Distinction out to you.

That’s it for today.  Thanks for reading.  Log on to my website www.BudBilanich.com for more common sense.  Check out my other blog: www.CommonSenseGuy.com for common sense advice on leading people and running a small business.

I’ll see you around the web, and at Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

PS: Speaking of Alex’s Lemonade Stand – my fundraising page is still open.  Please go to www.FirstGiving.com/TheCommonSenseGuy to read Alex’s inspiring story and to donate if you can.
