Paying Attention to Detail Pays Off

Today is Wednesday, so this post is on Outstanding Performance.

Execution and attention to detail are two hallmarks of outstanding performance.  I’d like to introduce you to someone who has an amazing eye for detail.  She is Nancy Marmolejo.  She is an entrepreneur, the founder of Comadre Coaching – log on to her website to find out what a “Comadre” is.  Nancy is also an expert in using MySpace as a platform to promote your business.  Check out her MySpace page: www.MySpace.com/2comadre.

I invested $10.00 and bought her special report Make MySpace YOUR Space:
How to Turn the Biggest Social Networking Site Into a Lead Generating, Platform Building Bonanza.  This report is worth way more than the $10.00 I paid for it!!!

Nancy provides a detailed, step by step system for becoming known on MySpace.  She gives detailed instructions on how to:

  • Create a MySpace account.
  • Create a MySpace home page.
  • Customize your MySpace url.
  • Build and edit your MySpace profile.
  • Add photos to your MySpace profile.
  • Posting comments on MySpace.
  • Setting up and writing a MySpace blog.
  • Making MySpace friends.

Nancy’s attention to detail is what makes her product very useful.  For example, the section on creating a MySpace “About Me” page includes this advice.

“Nothing is worse than copying a beautifully laid out bio into the About Me section of MySpace only to have it look like an endless stream of text with nor paragraph beaks (which is exactly what happened the first time, I tried to do an About Me page).  So here’s what you need to do:

  • Before each paragraph, simply put the html tag for paragraph: <p>.
  • If you want something in bold, put <b> before the text and </b> after it.  (If you don’t put </b> at the end of the text you want in bold, your whole page will be bold.
  • To make a link back to your website, or any site on the web, past this text in with your url in the address: a href=http://www.yourdomain.com>LINK NAME HERE</a>.

This attention to detail makes it easy for anyone to set up a good looking MySpace page.  Here’ mine: www.MySpace.com/BudBilanich.

I want to make two common sense points here.  1) Nancy Marmolejo has produced a high quality product.  2) If you follow her lead and pay as much attention to detail in your work, as she has in this special report, you will be well on your way to a successful career and life.

The old saying, “the devil is in the details” is true.  If you pay attention to details as you execute the tasks associated with your job, your performance will improve.  The better your performance, the more successful you’ll be.

That’s it for today.  Thanks for reading.  Log on to my website www.BudBilanich.com for more common sense.  Check out my other blog: www.CommonSenseGuy.com for common sense advice on leading people and running a small business.

I’ll see you around the web, and at Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
