Live in Your Higher Self

Today is Monday, so this post is on self confidence.

Recently, I came across a great little book (and I do mean little, it measures four inches by three inches), The Little Book of Confidence, by Susan Jeffers.  Dr. Jeffers is also the author the best seller Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.

The Little Book of Confidence is a series of quotes and meditations from Dr. Jeffers on how to build self confidence.  She doesn’t waste any time.  The first two thoughts resonated with me for days after I read them

The Higher Self

“Inside you is a place filled with joy, creativity, intuition, peace, power, love and all good things.  I call it the Higher Self.  Whenever in this place, your confidence soars and all seems right with the world.”

The Lower Self

“Inside you is also a place filled with self-doubt, fear, anger, helplessness, scarcity and all negative things.  This is the Lower Self.  Whenever in this place, your confidence disappears and all seems wrong with the world.”

Pretty powerful stuff, huh?  As I pondered these two passages, I came to a couple of conclusions.  1) I want to spend as much time as I can in my higher self.  2) I have the power to choose if I am going to spend time in my higher self or my lower self.

And that’s the common sense point for today.  We all can choose to spend our time in our higher self.  All we have to do is choose how we react to the situations in which we find ourselves.

Choose to be joyful – even though things sometimes aren’t going well.  Choose to open yourself up to the world and what others have to say in order to let y our creativity flow.  Choose to let your mind wander occasionally – so your intuition can guide you to the right path.  Choose peace and love instead of conflict and hate.  Revel in your personal power.

If you make these positive choices everyday, your self confidence will grow, and you will be on your way to becoming a success in your life and career.

That’s it for today.  Thanks for reading.  Log on to my website www.BudBilanich.com for more common sense.  Check out my other blog: www.CommonSenseGuy.com for common sense advice on leading people and running a small business.

I’ll see you around the web, and at Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
